Serve with Detroit: Youth Mission

SERVE WITH DETROIT: WEEK OF JULY 6, 2025
The Greater Detroit District in conjunction with Cass Community Social Services will be taking part in Cass’s ‘Serve with Detroit’ program. This is a week-long mission experience in a United Methodist affiliated social service agency. Youth from throughout the District will come together to serve those in need in Detroit.

The week will include meal preparation, a tire hunt, time in Cass’s Green Industries program, working with the developmentally disabled population, working with homeless children and adults, buildings and grounds maintenance projects and more. Evening activities include sightseeing in the City with a faith-based focus, reflection on the day’s work, an evening in Detroit’s Mexican Town and time for fun.

A fee of $200 per person includes all food, lodging, materials and a t-shirt.
Youth will stay at Cass Community UMC on camp style beds or on participant supplied air mattresses. The church is located in a walkable neighborhood with ice cream and coffee shops nearby. Adults, four per twenty youth, will be invited to participate at no cost to them. Accommodations include showers and wi-fi.
