Greater Detroit District UMC Church & Society Ministry

The Greater Detroit District UMC Church & Society Ministry is committed to the pursuit of a living faith, the promotion of justice, and the advocacy for peace.

Our ministry is called to actively engage in the implementation of the Social Principles and other policy statements of  social concerns within the Greater Detroit District.

Our mission is centered on:

• Relating the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our Church, communities, and the world in which we reside,
• Bringing the entirety of human life into alignment with the divine will,
• Demonstrating that reconciliation encompasses personal, social, and civic righteousness.

Headquartered in the Greater Detroit District, we strive to embody these principles, working to address various social issues aligned with the positions claimed by The United Methodist Church. Through communication with policymakers and leaders globally, our Church & Society Ministry is dedicated to the transformative mission of making a positive impact on the world we inhabit.
