Cass Community UMC (CCUMC) in partnership with the Wayne State University Medical School offers free medical care to the medically underserved, financially challenged and homeless families in our community. The clinic is open every Saturday from 9AM – 11:30AM.
The CCUMC clinic has also been attempting to address the critical non-medical needs of its guests, both adults and children. It is no surprise that the demand for non-medical offerings far exceeds the clinic’s supply. In order to expand the clinic’s non-medical offerings, the Greater Detroit District (GDD) is encouraging its 81 churches to support the vital work of the clinic by volunteering at the clinic and/or donating non-medical supplies to the clinic.
Below is a list of the non-medical items most in demand at the Cass Clinic:
· Diapers (size, 3, 4, 5 and 6)
· Baby wipes
· Men’s and women’s sweatpants and sweatshirts (sizes Large thru 3XL).
· Underwear for men and women
· Bed Sheet sets
· Bath towels
Let us all heed Matthew’s call to action (Chapter 22, vs.36 -39):“love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
If you and other members of your church, including children and youth, are interested in supporting those in need, please send your non-medical offerings to:
The Cass Clinic at 11745 Rosa Parks Boulevard, Detroit MI. 48206
