“We must rapidly begin the shift from a “thing-oriented” society to a “person-oriented” society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.” -Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

BELOVED COMMUNITY GRANT: DUE NOVEMBER 1, 2026
“Let us live together in peace and love in a Beloved Community.” -Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Churches across the Greater Detroit District are invited to apply for the Beloved Community Grant, recognizing congregations doing meaningful justice work and building Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community. Up to three churches will receive grants at the annual MLK Celebration in January 2027. Apply and share how your congregation is putting faith into action in your community.
Help Carry the Legacy Forward
Your generosity helps turn Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community into action. Gifts to the MLK Scholarship Fund support graduating high school seniors as they take their next steps, while gifts to the Beloved Community Grant Fund help Greater Detroit District churches expand ministries rooted in justice, service, and community transformation. Give today and help invest in the next generation of leaders and the churches working to build a more just and beloved community.
