Nominations for Lay Equalization members to the Michigan Annual Conference are now open. Like last year, current plans are for a shortened, but in-person, conference in Traverse City from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1, 2025.
You are invited to nominate up to two members from your church to the Commission on the Laity for consideration as an equalization member to the Michigan Annual Conference 2025. These positions are allotted to districts around the state in proportion to district membership of the Michigan UMC Conference. This year the total Lay Equalization positions have decreased to about half the number last year plus each member selected is required to pay a $50 registration fee. As a reminder, pastors and elected Lay Members to Annual Conference elected by their Church Charge Conference are financially supported by their church and are not eligible to be considered as equalization members.
