2019 Hands for Detroit – Registration is Open

2019 Hands for Detroit registration Open

Eight years ago, in an effort to show support for the City of
Detroit, newly appointed District Superintendent, Rev. Melanie
Carey, initiated Hands4Detroit on the first Saturday of October,

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, we will continue the
tradition. The Greater Detroit District Superintendent of the United
Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Charles Boayue, Jr., invites all to our
Eighth Annual Hands4Detroit! Join volunteers and Detroit
neighbors in participating in beautification and clean-up projects, in
performing small building and renovation projects, and join in a
food campaign with Gleaners to drive out hunger in the Motor City.

The vision is two-fold: to show love for our neighbors
beyond the walls of our buildings, and to remind everyone that
when we work together, we can accomplish so much more.

The idea is simple, yet profound…get outside…get with
others…get busy

This year, we will join the Warrendale Community and the
Islamic Center of Detroit for a time of work, food and fellowship.
Everyone (seniors, youth, young-adults, adults), can take
part and are invited to spend at least part of the day with us! But
register online at hands4detroit.org so that we can accommodate
you and determine the number of lunches to prepare.
